VIVA  Acting Up, Acting Out

VIVA is the Society for Creative Aging’s original theatre troupe, formed in 2002. We welcome everyone who wants to come out and play with us.

Throughout the year we explore different theatre genres, learn from theatre professionals, and, working with a professional writer and director, we script material borrowed from famous playwrights, combined with our original work.  An original production is mounted every November.

We have performed in Boulder, Lafayette and Erie as part of our annual season presenting a spring performance and a fall performance and often take the shows to neighboring towns and other local senior residences throughout the year.

VIVA Monthly Workshops

VIVA continues to engage in a year long learning and creative initiative with monthly workshops offering learning opportunities led by professional actors, educators and community leaders with the goal of enhancing acting skills and broadening knowledge of theatrical possibilities. VIVA meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month at the Frasier Meadows Retirement Community, 350 Ponca Place in Boulder. These are free and open to the public.

The Gin Game was an Emmy Award winning Broadway play in the 70’s. It has been brought back to life as our talented resident actor’s from the VIVA Theatre Troupe perform scenes one and two at venues throughout Boulder County. Stay tuned for their next performance this summer!

VIVA Meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 3:30 PM, Frasier Meadows Manor Chapel (4th Floor). For more information call 303-443-3990.
