Volunteer – Make New Friends

One of the benefits of getting involved with VIVA is that you’ll be part of a community of fun-loving and diverse people from many different walks of life.

Though COVID severely restricted our activities for two years, we are ready to chart our theater’s next twenty years. If we are to prosper we need more volunteers.

We are looking for people who are willing to donate some of their time to helping us. Expertise and experience would be lovely, but not necessary. Virtually every one of our current volunteers also participates as a performer in some capacity, so volunteering and acting are not mutually exclusive. There are a lot of tasks involved in putting on a show!

These are some areas where we can use assistance:

Board of Directors: we are looking for general board members who are willing to help us regroup after COVID. Legal or financial expertise would be a plus. The term is three years.

Volunteer Recruiter: help us strategize to expand our volunteer base. Outreach may involve visiting senior centers, adult 55+ communities, and other local groups. 

Planning: our vision for the future will be built collaboratively. Would you be interested in leading script reading groups, or co-ordinating programs to take on the road? Do you have theater expertise and would you be willing to put on a workshop? Interested in event planning?

Production Roles: we can always use people interested in stage managing, graphics design, set building, costumes, and other backstage assistance.
