Dorothy Parker Comes to Frasier

By August 26, 2019 Frasier Meadows

August 27th: VIVA Presents! brings a “Reading Live” performance of selected works by the all-time master of sophisticated comedy, Dorothy Parker.

Kate Gulliver, Lafayette resident and occasional actor, is delighted to return to Frasier Meadows. She will be reading selections from Dorothy’s works, including her short stories, infamous bon mots, and many witticisms.

A renowned humorist, Dorothy Parker was a member of the Algonquin Round Table, a/k/a The Vicious Circle.

This summer marks the 100th anniversary of the group’s very first luncheon, held at the Algonquin Hotel, attended by a notorious and very funny group of critics, actors, journalists, and writers.

The Round Table had lunch together daily for ten years, all the while burnishing their legend as the penultimate wits of the Twentieth Century.
